Welcome to Ms. DeLisle's webpage.

My name is Sharon DeLisle. I am teaching Focus Math and Telescoped Algebra 8/Intermediate Algebra. I am originally from Milwaukee but have lived in Minnesota for what will be my 27th year. I am still a Green Bay Packer fan, of course. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville and my Masters degree from Saint Mary's University.
I have two kids, both in middle school this year. They are also distance learning. This should be an interesting year.
I am excited to be teaching math at Anwatin this year. I love teaching math. My favorite part is seeing students get excited when they work hard to understand the concept and finally get it.
I am excited to see our students grow as mathematicians! I believe every person, young or old, has the capacity to grow their intelligence by putting forth effort and practicing. Mathematical talent is NOT simply inside someone-it is grown as we discover patterns, solve problems, practice, and try new ways of doing things.
4 Things You Can Do to Help Your Kid Be Successful in Math:
1. Help your child find and keep a space where he/she can do homework. Your child will get homework on Monday due Wednesday and Wednesday due Friday.
2. Never say "I'm bad at math", "I can't do math", or "I was never good at math."
3. Ask to see your kid's math homework and have him/her explain a problem to you.
4. Make sure your kids gets plenty of sleep. Research says that teenagers should get 9 1/2 hours of sleep each night.
Please let me know if you have questions. The best way to contact me is by email at sharon.delisle@mpls.k12.mn.us. You can also call/text 612-460-5521.
